Tourism Australia to promote itself during release of ‘Australia’
Tourism Australia is geared up for early campaigning of its destination for the next year. “From mid-December 2008 onwards, Tourism Australia will bring out two advertisement campaigns, one promoting the destination Australia and other promoting the release of movie ‘Australia’, which is due on January 1, 2009 in India, both directed by Baz Luhrmann,” said Abhilasha Jain, Country Manager (India), Tourism Australia.

During the release of the movie, Tourism Australia will also launch an offer called ‘Lose yourself in the movie, find yourself in Australia’. “Those watching the movie will be asked to fill a form, on the basis of which they might win a trip for two to Melbourne or Sydney in Australia. We will also be distributing a small brochure highlighting all the places which can be visited in Australia,” added Jain.

Tourism Australia will also organise a business focussed event in February 2009 to target the corporate sector’s premium segment. Jain further stated, “We are expecting low figures from corporate segment in 2009, but we will still keep on working to make Australia the top preference for incentives and MICE in the Indian market. This year, we are starting early with our promotions, because we know that people will now take more time to make their travel plans because of various cost cutting measures.” Tourism Australia will also focus more on the Aussie specialist training program and new innovative products to tap the potential markets.
