Monster beach croc stalks 'freaked' woman
Darwin grandmother Jillian Clemens, 52, said she "freaked out" when - standing in shallow water at Casuarina Beach on Saturday afternoon - she noticed a croc was about two or three metres from her ankles.

Ms Clemens said the crocodile she saw was between 1.5m and 2m long, and it was watching her, "crouched down ready to go".

The Alawa woman had been throwing a frisbee to her one-year-old Labrador, and said she was just about to take a step forward to throw it.

"I think he was stalking me ... we were the only ones in the water," Ms Clemens said.

"I think if I had taken one more step, me and my dog would have been attacked."

Ms Clemens said she backed out of the water fast, and then screamed to a nearby man to take photos of the half-submerged beast.

"The croc took off into deeper water about 30m out. He was cruising along the beach."

Children had been playing at the beach at the time, and Ms Clemens said she was very concerned it might return.

"If he's stalking me, he's ready to attack someone."
